A Brazilian-rooted nonprofit serving all of Central Florida.
Comunidade Brasileira da IASD, Inc. began among Brazilian families in Orlando and grew into an organization that serves anyone who asks — in three languages, at no cost, without conditions.
Our mission
To make the help of God practically reachable by any person in Central Florida, at no cost and in their own language.
That mission has two halves and we take both literally. Practically reachable means a person should not need money, transportation, immigration status, English, or a prior relationship with a church to receive something real from us. In their own language means Portuguese, English, and Spanish are treated as equals — the same content, the same quality, released together.
What we hold to
Five commitments that govern how we operate.
- Free is not a promotion.It is a permanent policy. No ministry we run will ever charge a fee, gate content behind a payment, or sell a product. If it cannot be given away, we do not build it.
- Help first, no conditions.We do not require attendance, membership, agreement, or a profession of faith before helping someone. We do not ask about immigration status. Help is not leverage.
- Dignity over optics.We do not photograph people receiving assistance for fundraising material. The people we serve are not content.
- Say what is true.We publish what we believe plainly, we do not overstate our size or results, and we correct our mistakes in public.
- The work outlives the workers.Everything is documented, translated, and transferable, so no ministry depends on one irreplaceable person.
How we got here
Started at a table. Grew into fifteen ministries.
What is now a portfolio of ministries began the way most real work does: a small group of Brazilian families in Orlando meeting in parks, homes, and borrowed rooms, and noticing the same needs repeating. Someone needed food. Someone needed prayer at 2 a.m. Someone needed the Bible explained without being made to feel stupid. Someone's marriage was quietly ending. Each ministry we operate today exists because a specific person had a specific need and there was nothing free, trustworthy, and in their language to hand them.
Where we stand
Christian in conviction, open in practice.
CBA Orlando is an explicitly Christian organization, rooted in the Adventist tradition and committed to Scripture as the rule of faith. We do not hide that, and we do not weaponize it. You will never be required to believe what we believe in order to be fed, prayed for, or treated with respect by this organization.
CBA Orlando is an independent nonprofit ministry organization. It is not an official entity of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's General Conference, a union, or a conference, and it is not endorsed by them.
