Serve with us

We need hands more often than we need advice.

Volunteers run almost everything here. If you have a skill, a truck, a second language, or a free Saturday, there is real work waiting.

What we need

Concrete roles, honestly described.

Food and delivery

Shop, pack, and deliver groceries and essentials. Requires a vehicle and a couple of hours. This is the most consistently needed role we have.

Translation

Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Written translation, live interpreting at meetings, and helping a family understand a government or medical form.

Teaching and mentoring

Lead a small group, mentor one person through a Bible study, or walk with someone preparing for baptism. Training and materials provided.

Kids and teens

Before you can serve here you will need to pass a background check and sign our child-protection policy. We are standing both up now, so this is the one area where we may ask you to wait — we are not putting anyone with minors ahead of the safeguards.

Trades and maintenance

Electrical, plumbing, A/C, carpentry, and general repair — both for our operations and for families in crisis who cannot pay a contractor.

Professional skills

Accounting, legal, design, photography, video, IT, and administration. A few hours of expertise routinely saves this organization thousands of dollars.

How it works

Four steps, no bureaucracy theater.

  1. 01Tell us what you can doA message with your skills, your language, and your realistic availability.
  2. 02A short conversationA real person calls or meets you. We are matching you to work you will actually enjoy, not filling a slot.
  3. 03Screening where requiredAnyone who will serve with children or teens must clear a background check before their first contact with a minor. This is being formalized now and there is no exception to it.
  4. 04Start smallYour first assignment is deliberately small. Both of us should be sure this fits before anyone commits further.

What we promise you

Three things we owe every volunteer.

  • Your time will not be wasted. If we ask you to come, there is real work. If plans change, we tell you before you drive.
  • You will not be exploited. No guilt, no escalating asks, and no treating a volunteer as free permanent staff.
  • You can stop.Seasons change. Step back without an explanation and without anyone making it awkward.
